Somalia video games boom dents al-Shabaab recruitment
In Mogadishu, the videogames business is blowing up, with young boys spending their days playing in shops, arcades or at home. While it seems some of them are choosing games over school, games are also keeping kids off the streets and keeping them from getting “bored” and running off with terrorist or militant organizations like al-Shabaab.
This is excellent. Someone should start a used-console/games drive to donate to kids in Somalia. GameStop, you’re the king of used games. Get on it?
